Industry Experience – Same PIM Patterns, Different Products.
We're a Pimcore boutique, not a generalist shop with a hundred industry logos to show off. But inside our projects, the data-model patterns per industry repeat reliably, and our senior team knows them before your project starts.
A camera-accessory catalog and a light-fixture range have little in common at first glance. In the data model, they do: both need variant logic, compatibility rules, and mandatory attributes that can't be improvised. That repetition is exactly why industry experience matters, without us selling off-the-shelf industry software because of it. Each industry below stands for an experience field from our projects, not a ready-made template. The data model still gets built for your specific situation, not pulled out of a toolbox.
Optics & Imaging
Technical specs, variants, and accessory compatibility, where the wrong adapter costs more than a return label.
Energy
Technical documentation, standards, and Web2Print for catalogs that have to come from the same data as the ERP.
Telecommunications
Plans, devices, and add-ons combine into an SKU count no spreadsheet can track cleanly anymore.
Audio Technology
Finishes, connectivity, and accessory compatibility across multiple product lines and sales channels.
Lighting
Fitting types, color temperatures, and mandatory energy-efficiency data that has to be correct per variant.
Sportswear
Seasonal collections with size grids and variants, two to four cycles a year, without a rebuild every time.
Retail
Assortment breadth across stores and channels, with price and availability data that has to be right everywhere.
E-Commerce
One product catalog, many marketplaces: each with its own attribute and feed requirements.
Publishing
Title metadata, ONIX export, and multi-market editions, when one title lives in six countries at once.
Software
License SKUs, editions, and bundles whose combinatorics even PIM vendors shouldn't underestimate.
Industrial Wholesale
Supplier consolidation and ETIM classification across hundreds of thousands of items.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my industry need a specialized PIM system, or is a generic one enough?
Pimcore itself is industry-neutral. What's industry-specific isn't the software, it's the data model on top of it: the attributes, variants, and mandatory fields that fit your products, not a generic template.
Does Praetorian Digital sell ready-made industry templates?
No, deliberately not. A prebuilt industry template usually solves the surface, not the underlying data-model problem. Industry experience speeds up our diagnosis, it doesn't make the solution any less specific to you.
What if my industry isn't listed below?
The list shows experience fields from our projects, not a limitation. The underlying patterns (variant depth, multi-market requirements, mandatory attributes) carry over to most product-data-intensive industries.
Why choose a boutique over a large agency for industry experience?
A broad agency spreads industry knowledge across many teams and projects. With us, that same experience sits inside the same senior team that actually builds your project, not in a separate presales department.
